Well CAD uses a lot of resources on a pc. I have a toshiba with 2GB of memory and 3.4GHz processor and It runs pretty well. I paid $1000 for it a year and a half ago. You could probably get one similar now for $600 or so

I don’t think you need 3.0 GHz, but you definitely need 4 gigs of ram. That will be your most important investment.
