And what about those of we regulating the countertop or list as the mechanism desk? Sure the mechanism will fit ¿ the guard goes at the back of the keyboard, the CPU goes , well, the CPU goes wherever the wires allow. Do not be fooled when the description says this stand holds up to 21″ monitors – that is only true for *flat-panel* monitors, not traditional CRT monitors. Note that the weight rating says 50 pounds! Most standard 19″ monitors weigh 60 pounds or more. I purchased this item at a Staples near me, and brought it home to use with my 19″ CRT. After placing the monitor on the stand, the stand bobbed up and down and seemed as if it would completely bend at any moment.

These are not made to the same specs. I purchased this from local store to raise my monitors to eye level. Now theyre not even being that one stand has a different bend then the other. It is definately not the desk since both monitors on the desk are level.

I am returning and going to seek a blown plastic option assuming that those will be better.

For a single monitor, this stand should suffice.

Works great as a laptop stand. Right now I have my laptop resting on top and an external drive below it. When the drive’s not there, I can easily push my keyboard under it so I have a bit of usable space on the desk.

The reason I mentioned it being cheap is, well for two reasons. First off, the end-caps on the metal are mis-matched. One is nice and shiny, the other is dull and doesn’t fit in the hole. My other gripe is a paint crack on the right side.

Besides these problems, it does exactly what it’s supposed to. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and couldn’t be more happy.

  4. I bought this stand for my monitor, with the intention of putting my laptop beneath. I works great for this. My Macbook is a 13 in (space beneath is ~14” (btwn the legs) by 10”–in case you’re wondering; but your laptop could always stick out a little in front or behind). Some reviewers didn’t like the color; it’s not silver, more of a grey-olivey color, but it doesn’t look bad by any means. (I think it just depends upon what you’re expecting.) It’s very stable, doesn’t move or wiggle around, even if I bump my desk (which I do often). I like it very much and would recommend it to others. My computer gets plenty of circulation. Plus you can’t beat the price.

I got this as a stand for my PS2 Slim. I was worried about generated heat and this metal stand makes a great heat sink. It’s even got holes in it that add even more ventilation. I now have room to store my controllers under the system so as a space saver alone it was worth the nominal price. This is the cheapest monitor stand of reasonable quality I have found.

It would also make a very nice stand with passive cooling for your laptop, if you were typing on a coffee table that’s lower than the couch you’re sitting on. Set on a normal desk, its height would be a bit cumbersome to type on, unless you hooked up an external keyboard.

Be clear, this *will not* support much weight. The whole missing front support is a design is flaw in my opinion. However, if you’re using it for something light it’s great. The color isn’t as nice looking as the picture would lead you to believe, but I really don’t care.
