Same expect indication for 200 some-more if we wish it in black, who would compensate 200 some-more for the black notebook?

Well, you are getting the SuperDrive, here’s how I look at it, I’m not going to burn DVDs on my laptop (that’s why I have an uber powerful desktop), I’m not going to play games on my laptop (that’s why I have an uber powerful desktop), though I still prefer dedicated graphics and the MacBooks have Intel’s GMA 950 which I hate with every fiber in my being, nonetheless a dedicated graphics card in this situation is not required but definitely preferable. If you REALLY want black I won’t stop you from getting but here’s what I’d do.
Start with the basic 1.83Ghz Core Duo model, get yourself 1GB of memory and at least an 80GB hard drive. That will run you about $1249 and that’s the road I would go. Sacrifice black and the SuperDrive for more memory, in this instance I feel having more memory for you applications and OSX is more important than a SuperDrive or getting a new color. Of course getting the 2.0GHz model with 1GB of memory is good also.
If you are stuck on getting the black model and the way you customize it, if it comes to nearly $1900, you may as well get the base model MacBook Pro, at least you’ll be getting dedicated graphics in the form of an ATi mobility X1600.
Take a closer look.
The white has a 60 gig HD and the black 80 gig
And people will pay more for a color. Canon did it with the Rebel XT (SLR camera)
As for me, I like my ole 17″ powerbook (silver)
Apple is charging you $200 more for 20 gig more hard drive space, and a different color? Why? People will pay for the black, apple realized the success of a black color when they released he new ipods.
