This is very good quality for the price. I have a 12 inch HP Pavillion dv2z and this case is great for teaching. I bring it to class and never actually take it out of the case. The plastic strips on the corners hold onto the laptop. So I just open the case and connect everything without taking the case off.
The side pocket is better than a lot of the 10 or 12 inch cases. It’s big enough to keep various things in. Although I don’t keep the power adapter in there in lieu of mouse, presenter, and other teaching oriented things, it would easily fit. I would put the power adapter in the side pocket for traveling purposes.
