So these have been my options:

1.- The initial a single is Macbook, a reason we picked this a single is since we have listened it is Virus free, my friends keep revelation me if we get an Apple product we will not have to be concerned about pathogen deleterious my complement anymore! So we consider that’s great, additionally it looks unequivocally sophisticated, not complicated during all as good as we adore which it is white, we have listened it is additionally fast! The usually disastrous thing we see is a price, cuz to me it’s kind of expensive.

2.- My second choice is a HP Pavilion DV4, I’m not a Hp air blower though this a single looks unequivocally nice, we dunno if this is a lastest hp laptop which came out, though it looks unequivocally advanced, a great things about this a single is patently a price, it is $279 cheaper than a Macbook which is kind of a lot, as good as it additionally has some-more capacity, it is a 2.1 GHZ 4G RAM as good as 350 Gb, soo great cost as good as great things inside, a bad thing is which it runs perspective as good as good we have all listened about how perspective crashes simply as good as and Viruses have been annoying, etc etc.

So greatfully let me know what we think, we know a macbook may be has reduction genius butsince we don’t know most about computers may be a macbook has reduction though runs faster cuz a program or who knows!.. so greatfully give me your perspective we will unequivocally conclude it!

    1. Macs rarely get viruses. This is because no one makes/can’t figure out how to make one for the security on a Mac. You can get one, but it’s like a 1/100,000 chance.

    2. In a sense the HP has more capacity but the Macbooks GHZ is about the same and I think the processor is better, so it would probably be faster. Do you think you’re going to go through that much storage though (350gb)?

    3. If you are a gamer, then get the HP. Most games don’t run correctly on Macs.

    First things first.
If your looking for a fast computer- the Hp Notebook is the one for you. It has 4GB RAM whereas the Mac book only has 2GB Ram.
Also the hard drive has more space seeming the Hp laptop has 320GB hard drive whereas the Mac book has 160GB.

BUT if you want a stylish laptop the mac book is for you.
But i would recommend the HP notebook.

To my conclusion, the HP notebook Is WAY better. It is faster, has a bigger screen and has more memory. But at the end of the day, this choice is up to you.

    Hey David,

I will tell you the same thing that I tell most people when the hit this same snag buying a new laptop. If you aren’t a computer wiz, the macbook is a good choice. You will find that the software is more friendly to a person that doesn’t know how it works in and out. Recently, I advised a friend about buying a new laptop. She eventually chose the money saving version, the HP. What I will say about vista is that I have experienced it’s “crashes” for which it is famous and, though I know computers fairly well, I can work through them quickly and without any damage to the computer. They are a timer waster, and not much more than that. Microsoft made some effective strides at making an easier to use operating system with vista, and, provided you have used Microsoft systems in the past, you will be just fine with the vista operating system.

I’m not sure if you considered these factors, but take a look at them.

    Mac
If you are not a computer wiz, finding programs to do odd jobs is harder because there are fewer programs for mac.
You will need to know where an apple store is if you want to get a hold of new tech toys.
If you are a worker, macs are indispensible.
You will have to buy expensive software to outfit it.
If you are into music or video this is the obvious choice.

    PC
If you get effective virus protection, it can be as safe as a mac.
    Programs are cheaper.
    More hardware options.

I would strongly suggest the mac. I am a student and I do most of my work on the computer, but I did have to drop $120 on Microsoft Works set. Mac has been manufacturing camels of computers for years, and you will be pleased with your purchase for a surprisingly long time given the way the technology world advances. I used a mac computer I bought in 1997 until last year.

If you get the HP, get a hold of registry cleaning software and a good norton, and you are safe enough.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

First, Macs aren’t “virus free.” However, there are far fewer viruses designed to attack Macs and they’re much harder to get on accident then Windows viruses (to get a Mac virus, you pretty much need to download and run an infected program and then type in your password to give it permission to infect your computer. So yeah, not as easy to get as a Windows virus).

Macs take a lot less maintenance than Windows PCs do. They don’t require defragmentation, spyware removal, virus removal, or any other routine “cleaning.”

The two computers you list are essentially identical in performance. The Mac has a slightly better processor. The PC has more RAM (but you can always upgrade the RAM later on the Mac if it proves to not be enough. I’m running 2GB on my MacBook Pro and I have no problems with that). The Mac also has a better graphics chipset. Neither one is very good (they’re both on-board shared-memory cards), but the Mac’s is slightly better.

Beware the questionable advertising technique on the Pavilion. They say that the video card is expandable up to about 1.7GB of memory. However, this is at the expense of system memory. Every byte you allocate to the video card is taken away from your main RAM. So if you set your video card to use up to 1.7GB of RAM, it will effectively remove 1.7GB of memory from that 4GB of RAM that comes pre-installed.

You sound like the kind of person who isn’t going to be too interested in constantly cleaning their computer. That being the case, I think that the choice is obvious: Go with the Mac. This is because if you get the PC, it’s going to get cluttered up with a bunch of nonsense and become all but unusable in a couple years. You could put a bunch of work into making it run well again, but I suspect you don’t really want to. It’s worth the extra 200-300 dollars to get the Macbook because it’s going to probably last you several years longer than the PC would.

Quick response to RhyBaby — I didn’t mention screen size because they are the same. The HP has a 14.1″ screen and the Mac has a 13.3″ screen. However, they both run at 1280×800 pixels. So unless you care about having an extra .8″ of battery sucking brightness, there’s no difference. They can both display the same amount of information on the screen at once. The HP just has slightly larger pixels. Also, if you need more than the 160GB of hard drive that comes standard in the Mac, you can always upgrade later. It’s simple and straightforward to do and won’t cost more than $100.
