try dell at dfs.com they have really good deal on laptop off lease.i brought 2.each one was about $430

I deal with Dell quite often, and for $500 dollars, it is going to be quite hard to find a decent laptop. If you really are wanting one, you might look to the $800 dollar range.

Well I know that my laptop was 450 without rebates. I got a COMPAQ at Best Buy. They have the best selection for the best price. Good luck finding a laptop that fits your budget. Hope I helped!!!

i bought a HP compaq brand from circuit city roughly a yr ago on sale. it was right at 500 with the 2 rebates i rec’d.

I think you can find computers under $500.00 in the trash can. Sorry if that sounds mean but the minimum price for the cheapest laptop is about 800. You can look at a few of them here : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=abcat0500000&type=category
