I am wanting to set up a mechanism (preferably a laptop) which would be dedicated to behaving engineering CAD work. This mechanism would be used for civil, electrical, software, as good as automatic engineering work. we know we substantially would need a unequivocally absolute laptop, though I’m not wanting to outlay a lot of money, as good as we need a portability. we am also, for a polite portion, wanting to be means to take a set of digital pre-drawn plans, as good as be means to perform takeoffs as good as presumably hope for them to be used in a GPS corsair system. The report to be enclosed would have to be a due betterment of a sure spot, as good as a place of sure items, such as a pointer or a centerline of a road. we see upon a Autodesk tyro site, where we have downloaded a little of a program since we am a student, which there have been tutorials available. we am seeking during a Civil 3D tutorials, though have been there any alternative tutorials which would assistance me in this endeavor? What equipment would we need?

You would need AutoCAD software, the pro edition is around $5000. There are tons of books on the use of AutoCAD – It also comes with all the information you will need to run anything you want. Or it will tell you where to find it.
All you need is AutoCAD Civil 3D but they don’t sell student versions of that just regular AutoCAD. The Civil 3D will run you around $1800 for one seat (license).
The Autodesk community discussion section is chocked full of knowledge. I learned AutoCAD by buying a book and messing around in it and looking on the forums if I had any questions.
Unfortunately, as soon as I learned Autodesk, I got a job in Transportation Engineering where they use Microstation and Geopak instead of AutoCAD Civil 3D. So I had to start all over again.
You might want to put Primavera Project Planner on there also or Microsoft Project.
For the computer, you will need a large hard drive around 120 GB would do fine, at least 1 GB Ram, a upgraded video card and a decent processor, it doesn’t have to be the fastest processor but don’t get the bottom one either. Having a good video card and a lot of RAM will make more of a difference than a faster processor. Also get a good screen, since if you are going to be doing a lot of drafting on the laptop, you want something that won’t hurt your eyes after staring at it for a couple of hours.
