IS AN AVERAGE 14″ NOTEBOOK COOLER FIT FOR A 13.3″ LAPTOP? ARE THERE BRANDS THAT ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS?

How about if your laptop is a Toshiba Portege M600 isn’t a empty opening of which laptop during a left side? should i buy a cooler which sucks during a bottom as well as releases during a sides?

Yes, if you are talking about a cooling pad Vizo, Rosewill, datastor, Targus. Cooling stands also seem to work for laptops that size

If you are speaking about cooler computers, the larger the computer, the cooler it will run because there is more space for the heat to go to cool off. Most laptop makers don’t try to do anything in their design to cool their computers except add a fan. The only laptop maker that consider this factor is Apple. Their computers are specifically designed to run cooler and minimize the need for the fan to fatigue the components. With Apple, even the RAM they select is the fastest and coolest available. They use the highest quality and expensive RAM, but it goes a long way to extend the longevity of the computer.

If you use an Apple laptop, one of the first thing you notice is how quiet and cool they run.

Since there is nothing to “fit” (you just have to place your notebook on the cooling pad), a 14 cooling pad will work with a 13.3” notebook.

However you should find out which way the air is circulated by the cooling pad and the notebook before buying. For example if the cooling pad sucks air from underneath the notebook while your notebook also has an intake vent underneath then your cooling will work against the notebook fan, this will actually make things worse.

Therefore If your notebook has an exhaust vent on the bottom then get a cooling pad which sucks air from bottom and release from sides; OR if your notebook has an intake vent on the bottom, then buy a cooling pad which sucks air from sides and blows it on to the notebook. Basically both air flows should complement each other.
