You didn’t list Alienware on there, but I consider that to be one of the absolute best. Oddly enough, HP isn’t even on there either. If I had to list them in order…

    Dell
    Sony Vaio
    Lenovo
    IBM
    Acer
    Toshiba

I have no experience with LG

Edit: OMG! Why the hell did someone have to say Mac. They’re trash! ARG….

ok, first of all, THE WORST CRAP U CAN GET IS HP.
hp has very bad customer service and their products are sub standard.

This is how i would list the manufacturers

apple or dell ( depending on whether u want mac os X or not)
    Alienware (owned by dell now)
    Lenovo (solid, but pricey)
Gateway (yes i know it used to be bad, but they have better models, much better)
Toshiba and LG (seriously, the most WTF do they make laptops for companies!!)

I’ve used dell all my life and i can’t remember having any issues except for occasional overheating when kept on a bed for long periods of time. but then of course i’m blocking the air duct. dell also has VERY sturdy products, i threw my inspiron laptop from 4 ft high and not even a scratch. and btw it was 7 lbs.

i would go for a sony vaio. These are made very well and with good specs. Then i would go for a toshiba these look good too and come a great prices. Dell is the leading brand so i’m sure you would not have a problem with that. Lenovo, has great fast laptops and hp don’t look too bad either.
