you dont really NEED just better performance and power usage. you can upgrade the processor on a laptop but it is a lot of work and will void your warranty so dont. plus laptop processors are expensive.

You will be using your laptop for music,email internet microsoft word and thats it rite? well… you dont need a core 2 duo what so ever… it mite run a bit smoother when switching windows when you have alot of programs up,but itunes? internet explorer? word? thats nothing for a pentium dual core to handle so your safe but if ur going into multi tasking… and a little games you mite need an upgrade but from my point your completely safe.

You don’t need it, but it helps if you’re doing anything intensive. If you’re photo editing, or gaming, you will need that CPU. But, for youtube, email, and word your current CPU will be fine.
