    I just answered a similar question. This one is nice for basic use, like school work and Internet. I use mine for photos.

    13″ macbook, all your software included.
    fast reliable tons of drive space, cd/dvd burning. built in camera.
    1 year warranty with the option for a 2yr extension
    buy a pc and you will be kicking yourself in 6 months.
    pc = piece of crap

    You could get by with a netbook running Linux and Open Office software.
    If you want to play games or watch videos then get a PC laptop.

    Ignore anyone who tries to get you to buy a Mac since they are not compatible with the words ‘on a budget’.

    Definitely a PC, they really aren’t bad like those mac commercials say, just install a virus protection service. I like HP Pavilion personally, and they don’t even cost much. I bought mine for around $800 and I have loads of RAM and extras, such as a built in webcam.
