Dell. It’s a really good lap top brand and does come between $500-$650.
i am a dell and gateway fan,www.dell.com and www gateway.com,sure you can find one to suite your needs, others will not agree with me,that is there right, but i am talking about facts, been running 3 systems of dell and gateway for years, could not ask for any support as good as thses 2, good luck
dell or mac
Look for Acer and Dell, they’ve got really good deals. You’d get a decent Acer for as low as £300, I’m not joking.
US Dollars are about 2 for each Pound Stirling!
And I would suggest a TOSHIBA….. and Not a Dell Nor a HP!
Besure you get 2-Gigs Ram……!

As of today a British pound is worth $ 1.98 US dollar, so I would want to be having British pounds in my pocket, when buying a computer or at any other time!!!
That would be approximately a $ 1,000.00 to $ 1,200.00 computer in US dollars. A Dell certainly can be bought for that or a Toshiba, which is my preference.
Always go with dell dimensions, inspirons and xps’s. I do.
Get a Dell because you can customize and tell them to put it together the way you want.
The computer parts are more or less the same, made in some massive factories in Asia. Also the most of the assembly is done in places where labor is cheap (again, mostly in Asia).
So, the only difference is that with Dell they only make what they need to make, they don’t have to mass produce them, involve various middle men, then display them in fancy department stores etc. Because of all this stuff, I think they are more competitive and you get exactly what you want, you don’t pay for features you don’t need. You will also get the latest technology because they make it when you order it, not three months (or whatever) ago…
if you just complete a few quick tasks on this site they’ll send you a sony laptop, completely free of charge!!
