Almost any mid-level or high-end laptop will have a built-in webcam. What you should look for is hardware that supports what you do with the machine – for example, if you’re a gamer, you’ll want both a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad processor and either a good IGP (the GeForce 9400 would be the current best IGP; Intel IGPs suck for anything but video) or dedicated graphics chip (like a GeForce 8600/9600/GT120 or better, or ATI 3800/4600/4700/4800 series chip).

In the mid-level price range, you’ll be looking at models ranging in price from $700 to $1500. Any model in this range will include a dual-core processor, decent sized hard drive, built-in wireless N, and a battery that will last at least 4 hours per charge. Other things you should look for are Bluetooth and DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort connectivity (so you can connect to a digital monitor or HDTV; DVI and DisplayPort also allow connections to VGA monitors with adapters).

Models I could recommend are Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad, HP HDX, and Apple MacBook White or Aluminum.

I would recommend a Sony Vaio Laptop with built in motion cam. It has 3GB ram and Windows Vista Home premium, business or ultimate. These computers are high quality and are some of the best laptops out there. You can get one for about $1999 Australian dollars.
