usually if the specs match between two brands, but the prices are pretty different, i would go with the more expensive (if you want… i can list many ways that a manufacturer may cut corners in building your laptop to bring down prices). Usually a known brand with a good warranty. I would easily recommend TOSHIBAs… think about it… the company that makes the ibook and ipod hard drives. I know alot of people with toshiba satellite laptops: Imagine going three years without a hard drive crash. Software supoort’s good. toshiba doesn’t cut corners too bad… even when they really are cutting corners.

btw: if you want someting for gaming… expect to pay a little more, but 1500 ain’t bad.
