Its really depends what you use it for. If your just an average user you should look for a promotional offer in a store. They are normally the best deals as they can bulk order the laptops.

Here’s why you should get a Mac:: There are NO CONS. The MacBook does both WinBloze and OSX, no other computer can make that statement. You have the best of the best. Apple Stores are popping up all over and you can make an appointment for a time and date, bring your computer there. They will troubleshoot it and fix it if it’s a software problem it’s FREE. What other computer company has stores and can make that statement? Get the 2.4 GHz with 4Gigs Ram and you got a speed machine like mine. The WinBloze people may not like a Mac computer but I’ll bet they all have iPods. Go Mac and Never Go Back.

The Acer Aspire is getting rave reviews for general use. Try doing some research on the web to find out its specs. If it doesn’t look like something you could use then go to the hp site and sift through that.

Actually, the first place to get an idea of what’s out there is here:

It really does depend upon what you’re going to be using it for. There is no sense in spending top dollar for a fast/powerful gaming machine if all you plan on doing with it is surfing the Internet (in which case you could just load PCLinuxOS [for FREE] on an older machine and save your money altogether.)

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!
