without the specs, i say it depends on what you are into.
if you are a hardcore gamer and you want to play games like crysis and gears of war and games of the like… then go for desktop.
desktops are better for computer crushing applictions.
but if ur a business man or a student and you frequently travel, then go for the laptop.
You should repost with what the cost of these computers are and what you typically do with the computer. If you are just a day to day user with music, internet, and word documents then any of them will do. Might I suggest that you look at http://www.costco.com because they have a 90 day return policy. Typically, that is way better then say someone like Best Buy. If you don’t have a ton of files and are not running hardware heavy applications then just go with the cheapest computer with the screen size you want.
If you ever want to play anything like the sims on your computer. the toshiba is out by default. Its no good for any type of game.
I would go with the Compaq laptop myself.
STOP. You Don’t have to have a machine that fast!!! WHY do you have to have a Laptop, or do you just WANT ONE????
Do your homework and look at friend’s machines. A laptop is much easier to DROP and BREAK or STEAL. YOU will pay a high price for portability, not to mention how EXPENSIVE laptops are to fix. Check Prices on replacement batteries along with the time that they LAST. You will crap when you find out the the batteries don’t stay charged all that long and are pricey to replace.
Next, Software. OEM software is Not Transferrable to another PC even if you try to do it “legally”. The software on an OEM machine like you want to buy lives and dies with THAT MACHINE ONLY. ASK to see the Restoration CDs too when you go to the store. IF they want to sell a machine bad enough they will do it. I would not buy ANY pc that does not come with the software separate. IF you don’t ask they will just tend to not mention that fact… You have to know what to ask…
Hold on to your money and try out a friend’s desktop and laptop pcs-both. spend some time with them – days. You are not as illiterate as you think if you realize that you need a second opinion first. Follow the common sense rules that apply to any purchase. The people that get screwed or are pissed off are the ones that were in too big of a hurry to buy something in the first place. It’s your money..
None of them to be honest with you. They’re all very different and suit different needs. Don’t be in a rush to run out and get one of these, as they’re not the best bang for your buck. If you have a computer savvy friend, see if he/she can sit down with you and help you customize a computer with you. Here are a few things you need to decide before running out and buying one.

There’s quite a bit to buying a computer, as you don’t want to buy one and wind up paying more to upgrade it 6 months later.
